Mental Combat
Which side of the cause and effect equation are you on?
A cause causes a certain effect. If you are on the cause side of the equation then you might say "I cause and take responsibility for all of the things that happen in my life".., this however is most likely not a popular side.
If you are on the other side, which is where most people are, you are probably saying things internally like;
“Everything that happened to me is caused by someone else...not me!”
Perhaps you may also have lots reasons why things did, or didn’t happen.
“I would have been successful"... but (this person) or (that thing) caused me to...(have, or not have success or succeed).”

So at the effect end of things you will probably feel that you are at the effect of some cause which is either inside you or outside you, but importantly over which you have no control.

In other words, it’s the fault of your wife, business, creative block or informational overload. You are a disenfranchised husband, worker, creative or learner
As long as we put our cause outside ourself, out “there”, then we are disenfranchising ourself and giving over the power. In this sense there is no "out there" out there, it is all operating "in here".

I do know  the sum of our conscious and our subconscious mind led us to where we are today.

I think we all need to ask, “Am I on the cause or the effects side of the equation? “
In life we have results ...or reasons why we didn’t get what we wanted

The fact is that if you move from being at the effect end to being at cause  it can change your life.  One might also ask, who is driving the bus in our mind and life, who is charge of the results produced?

Your regular internal dialogue accumulates and accretes as suggestions  you pass to your unconscious mind. In this manner your point of view, beliefs and values constantly update the suggestions and nature of your subterranean mind.

We omit so much information that is coming to us unconsciously. Carl Jung said that we marry our unconscious minds and then project onto her/him all of our unresolved issues and data. The information which is most unconscious in us we must by need project out onto people and events around us.

In this way we really can’t see anything other than who we are.

  • All perception in this sense is projection
  • Everything we perceive has already been tagged and classified based upon our memories
  • What we deeply believe is already projecting into our lives from the iceberg upwards as the tip and vice-versa

  8. You teach people how to treat you

McGraw P C. (2000) Life strategies – Doing what Works, Doing what Matters

Thoughts become your words, Your words become your actions,
Your actions become your habits, your habits become your character,
your character becomes your destiny... You think, therefore you are... your destiny.
Whenever you think someone witnesses . . . inside,
whenever you speak someone listens . . . inside,
whatever you do someone always notices . . . inside,
whatever habits you create someone will store . . . inside,
whatever character you create, you inhabit,
and there is always someone behind that . . . inside
Subsequently whatever destiny you have now created for yourself, there is always more . . . inside
