D-EMOTING (part 2) Daydreaming: meta-consciousness on day-shift
I wonder if you were perceptive enough to really notice yourself?
You may have found that you did not actually see yourself, but rather began to notice all the things that you are not, but felt you should be, your hair, your skin, the shape of your face etc.
Be honest!
This is a 20th century advertising-induced malady. In front of the mirror you most likely noticed all the should, would and coulds', a plateau of objectification, with very little subject (YOU) or sense of being-here-now-ness.
It is a healthy practice to just stand in front of a mirror observing the mind, witnessing the constant thought modification, judgement and disattisfaction or self-praise and vanity. The very process of witnessing it begins to dislodge you from the "acting out of the thoughts". Eventually with no emoter, the thoughts lose their relish, and with no relish and no thinker, the mind becomes still.
No doubt we inhabit our name, we certainly inhabit this body and our job, (well, some of the time). Here is the rub, we also inhabit our mind and emotions.
So, exactly who or what is it that observes the mind running on and on? Who is it that observes the emotional rollorcoastering.
And who is it exactly that just sometimes catches ourself and becomes self-aware AS OTHER PEOPLE PERCEIVE US.
Most of us will admit to role models, great sportsperson, physically beautiful bodies, laser-sharp intellects etc, how many of us if any aspire towards that, of which we are already comprised, the innermost core-perceiver, the empty personality, the vacant stillness, disembodied body, the nameless name, the effortless job?
D-emoting is ultimately training to recompose ourself back into the innermost core-perceiver. This perceptual filament is the vehicle and mechanism through which we separate the emotions from the facts, the glue from the glued.

If we notice a billboard out the side of our eyes speeding by at sixty miles and hour or open a large broadsheet with several thousand words of small print. Isn’t it quite uncanny and in one sense miraculous how our eyes will instantly be drawn to a few particular key words on the page. What is most interesting is that they are pre-ordained buzz-words semantically charged by your own hard worked for meta-conscious agendas. Whether it be food, sex, a new car, lover or house. Those phrases push forward from the stream of myriad meta-conscious data on the page or as the billboard zooms by! Notice if you are looking for a new particular car, house or lover, how many of that particular year, make and colour are suddenly everywhere on the road or by the side of it! Selective attention is astonishing! Our agendas are at work constantly bringing us what we have mentally languished over.
Warning! The writer is about to make a controversial claim here; the agenda catch-of-the-day for most people, most of the time is a negative haul when brought forward.
Using conscious strategic thoughts we can seed new agendas for the pattern-making dream machine and our core self to witness.
Our motivation and depression and satisfaction and dissatisfaction arise in the waking dreaming mind. If we bombard our mind with a constant stream of anger, outrage, sense of injustice etc, sooner or later the pattern-making dream machine will get the hang of it and respond. "Yes, I understand, things are bad and you are looking for more confirmation of this. I understand and will do your bidding and will work tirelessly to bring forward subconscious and subliminal information that is noticed to your consciousness, I will re-inforce and find meaning in this input stream"
In this way we begin to notice, the particular cars on the road we want to buy, or the textual strands that stand out from the thousands presented on the spread broadsheet open in front of us that suits our current agenda. We also notice and resonate with concurrent negative information we perceive that harmonises with our own negative thoughtstream. A self-fulfilling prophecy!
In this manner as we begin to access the mind's theatre we form new new content for our subconscious to weave around our lives.
Our emotions are the result of the thought process but are also the instigator of that same process... Once again we may ask, how to disembark the revolving wheel of thoughts, the snake that eats its own tail?
Just becoming aware of the process is a beginning! The very process of observing the thoughts slows the wheel sufficiently to disembark from time to time!
Pictures, sensations, sounds self-talk and memories in our heads, play all day irrespective of personal attention or not. Waking dreams or the meta-consciousness on day-shift is incessant but does respond to our input, in fact it is utterly composed of ours adn the environment input. In fact the daydreams we experience are partially informed by our input (and our early environment ).
People mostly instruct their dreaming mind when they are paying the least attention. When we say things such as “Why does...always happen to me?( and fill in the dots).”” I never, ever get to or have, experience...( and fill in the dots).”” People always say/do/treat me/ ..( and fill in the dots)”. If any of this is familiar, then you are totally normal, but emotionally unfit.
"How is that so ?" you say, read on…
When we make those pictures, sounds/self-talk and sensations we play the inner movie of our intent. Emotional feelings connected to those pictures, sounds, sensations and memories are what draws us into the internal movie drama. They are the emotive glue. Without emotions it is far easier to simply experience the inner TV and become inspired by the insightful intraconnected patterns communicated by our deeper mind.
The movies of our mind continue as long as we pay attention and then go underground. It is entirely possible to watch and not engage.
The practice is akin to booking out the entire gold class cinema for yourself as the famous theatre critic attending the screening of the inner theatre.
As long as you remain an engaged critic noting the quality of the production, the visuals, the drama, script, the quality of the wall to wall illusion you are in the mastery positions.
The moment the critic engages emotionally and becoming swept up in the drama begins to emote with the sound picture and sensations of the movie, then he or she is swept away downstream in the internal torrent of the mind, but now a slave of the mind.
It takes some training. In one sense this is the essence of meditation, but in this practice we are applying the meditation process to the daydreaming thought process.
Thoughts become your words, Your words become your actions,
Your actions become your habits, your habits become your character,
your character becomes your destiny... You think, therefore you are... your destiny.
Whenever you think someone witnesses . . . inside,
whenever you speak someone listens . . . inside,
whatever you do someone always notices . . . inside,
whatever habits you create someone will store . . . inside,
whatever character you create, you inhabit,
and there is always someone behind that . . . inside
Subsequently whatever destiny you have now created for yourself, there is always more . . . inside
